95%+

Confirmed delivery rates for text messages

Your peers started texting because the channel works. Every appeal that lands undelivered or unread costs you the gift it would have raised or the participation it would have garnered.

You Already Own This Channel

Open your CRM. A meaningful share of your donor, supporter, and member records carry a cell phone number you collected on donation forms and event registrations — and have been reached zero times. You paid to build this list with time and money. It sits idle while you buy postage and send emails to spam inboxes.

The free Texting Audit quantifies it. Send us an export and we report how many of your contacts you can text today, what a first campaign costs at our published rates, and how your current provider's delivery rate, response rate, and ROI compare. You get the numbers whether or not you ever send a text with us.

Your free Texting Audit reports:

A Better Outreach System Beats a Bigger Donor List

If you tried every traditional outreach channel, including your CRM's generic texting add-on, and have watched as responses kept shrinking even as your lists grew, you are not alone. Our job is to be there for you from sign up through send, so you can become a texting expert without becoming a texting engineer.

With your current outreach

Your year-end appeal lands in a crowded email inbox or spam folder

Postage prices went up again, so more names came off the mailing list

Volunteers or staff spend hours on the phone cold calling

Supporter replies dead-end at a noreply@ address

Contacts you paid to collect in time and money sit idle in your CRM

Delivery stalls around 70% on shared short codes

Legal compliance or registration fees marked up behind the invoice

With RumbleUp

90% of texts read within three minutes

Published per-message rates — you pay for what you send

Every reply lands in a team inbox a human can answer in minutes

Boost the performance of mail and email campaigns with a text nudge

The list you already own becomes your best channel

Confirmed 95%+ delivery on dedicated, fully registered numbers

Zero-markup 10DLC registration, every account

Texting Built for Nonprofit Needs

Founded to serve organizations other platforms turned away, RumbleUp now powers texting for 3,500+ clients, with a 95% customer retention rate. Four kinds of nonprofit teams get the most from the platform.

How do community foundations and grantmakers use texting?

Community foundations and grantmakers use texting to put a personal voice behind the moments that define their year: giving day pushes, matching gift announcements, year-end appeals, and invitations to galas, donor briefings, and site visits.

Texting also carries the quieter work. Fundholders get grant impact updates, grantees get application and reporting deadline reminders, and RSVPs come back as replies instead of scattering across inboxes. Every message goes out one-to-one from a named staff member, so donors respond the way they respond to any text from someone they know.

Impact belongs in pictures. MMS and Enhanced Video Text let your foundation show the food pantry expansion or the scholarship recipient a fund made possible, rather than describing it in an email that sits unread.

What is peer-to-peer (P2P) texting?

Peer-to-peer (P2P) texting means a person from your organization initiates each message and a person handles each reply. It creates two-way conversations at scale, which is why it avoids the spam patterns and phone carrier-level blocking that mass-blast tools trigger.

Why are nonprofits turning to texting in 2026?

Because the math from traditional channels stopped adding up. Many nonprofits have seen their responses shrinking even as their list keeps growing. On top of donor counts falling every year since 2021...

  1. Fundraising emails now average a 0.59% click rate (source)
  2. It takes an average of 1.55 to 3+ attempts just to reach a fresh prospect once via cold calling, and the average cold calling success rate sits at roughly 2.7% (source)
  3. The USPS increased Nonprofit Marketing Mail prices by an average of 2.1% to 5% depending on the sortation tier in July (source)
  4. The Forever stamp hit 82 cents in July (source)

What happened in response? Your peers moved to texting, because the channel works. Mobile fundraising messages average a 3.7% click-through rate — roughly six times email — and nonprofits sent 40% more texts in 2025 than the year before. The question left is whether you will too.

Does texting replace our email, direct mail, or cold calling programs?

No. Texting amplifies them. Programs that pair a monthly email, mail, or call blast with one or two texts for the moments that cannot wait see great results. See a case study of this in action.

Can we text our existing donor list?

Generally yes, when supporters gave you their number through a donation form, event registration, or signup. Consent rules vary by use, so our compliance team reviews your list source during onboarding and flags anything that needs a refresh. This is general guidance rather than legal advice.

Will our donors find texting annoying?

Not when a real person sends it and a real person answers. Your staff and volunteers initiate each message, recipients reply, and your staff then sends responses.

Opt-outs across nonprofit texting benchmarks average under 1% per send, and 89% of US consumers now choose to receive texts from at least one organization, up from 66% five years ago.

A donor list responds to restraint, and programs that pace their messages hold their list's trust. See our proven fundraising message strategy here.

Will older donors respond to texts?

Yes. Supporters in their 60s and 70s text family daily and read messages they would never open in email. Text read rates hold near 90% within three minutes across age groups, and reply rates from older donors regularly surprise our clients running first-time texting programs.

Can we send videos by text?

Yes. Our award winning Enhanced Video Text technology embeds broadcast-quality video inside the message, which faith teams use for sermon clips and fundraisers use for impact stories. Including a picture, video, or GIF roughly doubles response rates on the platform.

Can we text in languages other than English?

Yes. Unicode support covers Spanish, Korean, Mandarin, Arabic, and every other non-Latin script, plus emojis and special characters, so multilingual congregations and communities hear from you in their own language.

Why Does 10DLC Registration and Toll-Free/Short Code Verification Exist?

The registration and verification process differs by message channel, but they all:

  1. Help protect consumers from fraudulent messages sent by bad actors
  2. Reduce messaging impersonation that damages targeted brands
  3. Allow organizations to build trust and deliver messages at scale via a legitimate and reliable channel
How long does 10DLC registration take? What will 10DLC Registration cost me?

Carrier registration typically completes in 5–7 business days once all requirements are met, but we often see turnarounds faster than this. Our team of registration experts is here to guide you every step of the way.

The following costs all come from and are paid to The Campaign Registry (TCR):

Total One-Time Costs: $69-104 (based on organization type)

  • $4.50 one-time brand registration fee
  • $15 one-time manual review fee (per TCR campaign)
  • $0/$41.50/$95 one-time vetting fee (based on organization type)

Total On-going TCR Costs: $3-$10 per month (per TCR campaign based on organization type)

These one-time TCR fees are not included in your RumbleUp subscription or messaging costs and will be deducted from your account. Ongoing monthly TCR fees are invoiced to you.

RumbleUp does not and will not mark up TCR charges.

How is RumbleUp different from our CRM's texting add-on?

Your messages send from dedicated numbers registered to your organization instead of a shared short code, carry your name with no locked platform prefix, and land in a real two-way inbox your team answers. Delivery runs at a confirmed 95%+ average with reporting your board can read and act on.

Is RumbleUp a political texting company?

RumbleUp launched in 2017 serving political campaigns and now powers texting for nonprofits, public-safety teams, and 3,500+ organizations across dozens of industries. We never screen clients by mission or viewpoint, and our founder helps write the industry's professional texting standards through the AAPC.
