We are thrilled to congratulate our CEO for this recognition of his impressive contributions to the world of political technology.
The American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC) named our founder and CEO Thomas Peters a 40 Under 40 winner for 2020 in recognition of his outstanding achievements with uCampaign and RumbleUp. Thomas has always said that “when it comes to campaign technology, Democrats invent, and Republicans perfect,” which he has proven with the remarkable success of both his technology companies.
Thomas founded uCampaign in 2014 to help give Republicans access to next-generation campaign and election technology that he had seen Democrats use successfully in previous election cycles. uCampaign specialized in building powerful and fully customizable smartphone apps to meet the distinct needs of campaigns who wanted to include more current technology into their campaign strategies.
His company successfully built apps for many notable campaigns in the 2016 election cycle, including Ted Cruz for President, Brexit, the National Rifle Association, and Donald J. Trump for President. uCampaign’s success helped the platform expand to 12 countries by 2017.
That same year, the premier peer-to-peer (P2P) texting platform Hustle decided to drop all of their Republican and center-right clients, a move which both baffled and inspired Thomas. He knew he could pick up the market that Hustle voluntarily forfeited, which happened to be half the U.S. political sphere. Instead of copying Hustle’s technology, Thomas knew that he would have to develop a new P2P system from scratch to produce a superior product.
The result of this endeavor was RumbleUp, which was added as an extension of the uCampaign ecosystem in December of 2017 and transitioned to its own stand-alone platform in early 2020. Some of RumbleUp’s first clients included those dropped by Hustle back in 2017, who have reported that our system is more powerful, flexible, and easy-to-use.https://cdn.embedly.com/widgets/media.html?src=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fembed%2F1uWE-0Kr9B8%3Fstart%3D2%26feature%3Doembed%26start%3D2&display_name=YouTube&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.youtube.com%2Fwatch%3Fv%3D1uWE-0Kr9B8&image=https%3A%2F%2Fi.ytimg.com%2Fvi%2F1uWE-0Kr9B8%2Fhqdefault.jpg&key=a19fcc184b9711e1b4764040d3dc5c07&type=text%2Fhtml&schema=youtubeRumbleUp P2P Texting: Explained
Thomas has led our team to constantly improve RumbleUp, establishing the platform as the leader in the industry. We boast the best delivery rate, lowest spam rate, and highest reliability of any P2P vendor in the industry, as well as a simple turnkey onboarding system, exclusive platform integrations, and a 5-star customer support team.
Despite some initial hesitation of Republicans to adopt this new technology, the scale of engagement P2P texting provides has convinced the campaign establishment at every level that P2P texting is a vital campaign tool. RumbleUp also specializes in P2P texting for advocacy, polling, persuasion, official communication, surveying, fundraising and, most recently, public safety.
Outside of the political sphere, RumbleUp is a FirstNet approved public safety support application available in the FirstNet App Catalog, available to over 12,000 public safety agencies. This inclusion in the catalog builds upon our contribution to public safety during the aftermath of Hurricane Michael in 2018. The use of our best-in-class P2P texting solution amid communication challenges faced during this crisis was recognized by FirstNet as well as the AAPC in 2019 when RumbleUp won two Gold Pollie Awards and the first ever People’s Choice Award. In fact, less than .01% of entries earn the top honor of a Gold Pollie, which is why they hold the highest recognition in the political campaign industry!
With accomplishments this great, it’s no wonder that Thomas was chosen to be recognized as a 40 Under 40 winner in 2020. We look forward to the continued success of Thomas and RumbleUp and know without a doubt that he will continue to pursue excellence in anything he sets out to achieve in the future.
The AAPC is dedicated to fostering the next generation of political professionals and is proud to recognize individuals under the age of 40 who are in the political consulting/public affairs profession, contribute to the advancement of the industry, and whose conduct has been consistent with the Professional Code of Ethics of the AAPC.
